I’m Alex
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in helping individuals and couples navigate relational challenges with greater depth, clarity, and connection. My work is grounded in the intersection of depth psychology and attachment theory—two perspectives that reveal both the unconscious patterns shaping our relationships and our fundamental need for secure connection. Trained in the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), I integrate neurobiology, attachment science, and developmental psychology to support couples in cultivating intimacy, resilience, and mutual understanding.
Before becoming a therapist, I earned my undergraduate degree in philosophy from UCLA and spent a decade working as a producer in the entertainment industry. These early chapters of my life were shaped by a deep curiosity about the hidden side of things—what motivates us beneath the surface, and how we express those inner truths through culture, art, and relationships. Philosophy taught me to ask the big questions, while my time in the creative world showed me how we symbolically communicate what words often can’t. These inquiries became more personal after a profound experience of grief, which cracked me open and set me on a path toward healing and, eventually, to the vocation of psychotherapy.
I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. My clinical training took place at New Beginnings Counseling Center in Santa Barbara and within the Ojai Unified School District, where I worked with diverse populations across various stages of life. Through these experiences, I developed specialized expertise in treating adolescents and adults navigating complex mental health challenges, including complex PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, depression, and anxiety, as well as those struggling with gender identity, sexuality, grief, heartbreak, relational challenges, and major life transitions.
Becoming a wife and mother further illuminated, with profound clarity, the transformative power of relationships. It reinforced my belief that healing is not only personal but deeply relational—that the quality of our connections shapes the quality of our lives. Guided by this understanding, I help individuals and couples repair ruptures, break free from limiting cycles, and build relationships that foster authenticity, trust, and lasting connection.
I have greatly benefited from psychotherapy at different phases of my life and believe that the most effective therapy occurs within the container of a deeply meaningful and authentic connection with another person. I welcome you to reach out to discover if I may be that person for you.
