Couples Therapy

To be in a committed partnership is one of the most courageous acts we undertake. It holds up a mirror, reflecting not only the love that we are, but also the uncomfortable emotions that call for our attention. These moments of discomfort are invitations—to examine our past attachment wounds, to heal, and to cultivate a relationship that is both sustaining and fulfilling. In couples therapy, we embark on a shared journey—not to simply “fix” problems, but to uncover the deeper threads that bind us, woven from our histories, our shadows, and our deepest longings.

Through a lens of depth psychology, we explore the unconscious forces that shape your relationship. We look beyond surface-level conflict to understand the hidden beliefs, emotional wounds, and attachment patterns that are at play. These forces often run quietly beneath the surface, yet they hold profound influence over how we connect, how we communicate, and how we love.

By integrating my training in PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT), we honor both the biological and relational dimensions of your partnership. PACT recognizes that your nervous systems are in constant conversation with each other — responding to past hurts, unresolved trauma, and the tender vulnerability that love naturally brings — and provides a roadmap for decoding those conversations and creating new pathways toward secure attachment and healing. RLT complements this work by bringing honest, direct attention to the relational patterns that keep couples stuck: the ways we move into dominance or defeat, pursue or withdraw, and lose sight of the genuine intimacy we're longing for. Together, these approaches support couples in building relationships grounded not just in safety and empathy, but in full mutual respect and mature, lasting connection.

This is not a quick fix or a simple solution, but a journey of rediscovery and transformation. It is an invitation to explore the complexities of your shared life—the joys, the struggles, and the intricate dance of intimacy. Together, we’ll uncover the unseen forces at work in your relationship and bring them into the light, where healing and deeper connection can flourish.
